Small Steps to Lifestyle Change

This is the time of year when we reflect on what we’ve accomplished and challenge ourselves to try something new. Typically, we set ourselves up for disappointment. We ignore the importance of taking “small steps” or changes that lead to “big results.”

If you wish to improve your health, consider enrollment in a SwedishAmerican Center for Complementary Medicine (SACCM) facilitated Coronary Health Improvement Project (CHIP) video program. This can be that first small, but positive step toward the bigger goal of a healthy lifestyle. The CHIP program will teach you simple, incremental and sustainable changes related to nutrition, physical activity and stress management. These changes can lead to improved control over blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and weight.

This eight-week video class meets twice a week. Class schedules:

February 9 - March 31, 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., SACCM

March 1 - April 21, 3:45 p.m. - 5:45 p.m., SAH Conference Rooms

April 5 May 26, 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., SACCM
