Steps to Lifestyle Change
This
is the time of year when we reflect on what we’ve accomplished
and challenge ourselves to try something new. Typically, we
set ourselves up for disappointment. We ignore the importance
of taking “small steps” or changes that lead to “big results.”
If
you wish to improve your health, consider enrollment in a SwedishAmerican
Center for Complementary Medicine (SACCM) facilitated Coronary
Health Improvement Project (CHIP) video program. This can be
that first small, but positive step toward the bigger goal of
a healthy lifestyle. The CHIP program will teach you simple,
incremental and sustainable changes related to nutrition, physical
activity and stress management. These changes can lead to improved
control over blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and weight.
This
eight-week video class meets twice a week. Class schedules:
